Outer Banks Adventure

Last week, we went on a much needed vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We rented an adorable beach house right on the beach in South Nags Head and shared it with our friends Laura and Alex and their pug dog Mickey. We were blessed with many warm and sunny days perfect just for the beach. The last two days were ~~mostly~~ all rain but that didn't make a difference, we still had some great times!

This was Audrey's 2nd vacation to the beach but her first time she was old enough to walk and play as she wanted. The first day we went to the beach, I set her down on the sand and she immediately went to the ocean, fearless as always! Her first moments in the ocean were ALL giggles! My litle beach girl!

Getting bigger!

Today was one of those days that I woke up, looked at Audrey and thought "Oh my goodness, you grew last night"! Jason and I have thought this several times before and it's just strange to actually see your child grow overnight. To know that they actually look different than when you put them to bed the night before is really an amazing mix of emotions. Here is Audrey today, a tiny bit bigger than I remember her yesterday....

Happy Birthday Jason

August 28th was Jason's birthday and we celebrated with lots and lots of family time. We started out at The Taste of Legacy Village and then went to a huge kids park/play area and ended the day at our neighbors house so Audrey could play with all of the kids. Here are a few pictures from our day....

"Middaughpalooza 2011"

Each year Jason and I have a get together at our house and we invite all of our family and friends. We have been doing this since 2003, the year we got married and bought our first house. It's grown over the years and this year I took special notice to all of the children that were at our party. It's interesting to see the evolution since our first party which was mainly adults, loud music, and beer pong :) This party took the exact path I have always visioned it would - family, friends, children and lots of laughs.
